How we Implemented an Award-Winning Wellness Programme

Here at 1-Fix, we believe that happy staff = happy customers. Discover how we've implemented an award-winning wellness programme that our team loves.

By taking a comprehensive approach that encompasses financial, mental, social, and physical well-being, we have set a new standard for employee care and happiness. We recently won 'Workplace Health & Wellbeing' Award at the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Awards 2023, and received 'Highly Commended' for the 'Workplace Culture Award' at the IT Europa Awards 2023. Check out what we did to achieve such high accolades:


Financial Wellbeing

1-Fix understands that financial stress can be a significant burden on employees. To address this, we provide financial education workshops and access to financial advisors. We have also given early pay rises to help combat the cost-of-living crisis. One of the most well-received initiatives has been our snack corner in the office. Staff are welcome to help themselves to unlimited free snacks and drinks, and are encouraged to make requests for what we offer. This means they don't have to worry about going to the shops to make sure they have enough food to keep them energised during their workday. These initiatives have empowered employees to take control of their finances and plan for a secure future.


Mental Wellbeing

Mental health is a top priority at 1-Fix. We have an extensive health insurance policy which includes counselling services and workshops on stress management. We also have Wellness Wednesdays which has included meditation sessions and sound baths to increase mindfulness. Additionally, we have introduced flexible work hours for our management team, a 9.5 day fortnight for all staff (if they opt-in) and remote work options to reduce workplace stress and foster a healthier work-life balance.


Social Wellbeing

Creating a sense of community is vital for employee happiness. 1-Fix hosts team-building activities, social events, and even an upcoming weekend away. By nurturing strong connections among employees, we have cultivated a supportive and inclusive work environment.


Physical Wellbeing

Recognising the importance of physical health, 1-Fix provides subsidised gym memberships, physical health workshops (e.g. chiropractic workshops) and ergonomic workspaces. Staff are encouraged to get out-and-about on their hour-long lunch breaks, and walking meetings are offered regularly. In addition, one of our Wellness Wednesday initiatives was delivering fruit boxes to employees' homes to promote healthy eating.



Through this varied approach, 1-Fix has seen a remarkable transformation in our workforce. Employees feel valued, engaged, and motivated to perform at their best. Our commitment to holistic wellbeing has resulted in improved productivity, reduced turnover, and an overall boost in company morale. We're living proof that an extensive wellbeing programme doesn't have to be reserved for larger organisations, even smaller companies can do it successfully.
