Why We Recycle Our Tech

Craig Atkins • June 7, 2021

As lockdown starts to ease, we are excited to start getting the office ready for our return! Ben T and Lee have been busy recycling old tech to make sure we have ample room to be COVID safe. We use the recycling company Tech Recycle which allows us to recycle old IT and office equipment securely, ethically, and easily. In May we recycled almost 50 pieces of tech!

The whole process is straight-forward and easy. You just visit their website and contact them to book a collection. They will ask for a list of the tech you'd like them to take and let you know of any charges. All you have to do now is get the tech ready and they will come collect it. Afterwards, you will receive a duty of care notice showing you exactly what was recycled (see below).

As well as freeing up our office space, recycling our old tech means there is less chance of it going to landfill. This reduces the impact that tech disposal may have on the environment. Tech Recycle always try to refurbish/ reuse tech where possible, and if not, the items are broken down to core components to be recycled. At 1-fix we are committed to reducing our environmental impact wherever possible so using this service is an ideal way to do so.
